Gadan Irish Music Magazine Review – December 2025 Issue
We’re proud to announce that Gadan has been featured in the December 2025 issue of Irish Music Magazine, one of the most respected folk and traditional music publications in the world. The review, written by Seán Laffey, celebrates our debut album May the Divil Tune Your Banjos and introduces Gadan to the global Celtic and folk music community.
From the very first line, the Gadan Irish Music Magazine article captures the essence of our sound: “Mix Celtgrass with a dash of Italian sunshine.” Laffey describes how Gadan blends Irish traditional music, bluegrass and Appalachian roots with Italian creativity and energy, calling the result “string band music on steroids.”
In the Gadan Irish Music Magazine review, tracks such as You Were On My Mind This Morning are praised for their soulful vocals and dynamic instrumental interplay. Laffey notes how Eric Long’s voice “slides effortlessly into the groove as the mandolin picks up the pace,” while Green Groves of Erin / Boys of Malin is described as “so powerful you’ll need a seat belt for the second half.”
“Thanks to bands like Gadan, Celtgrass is now an established and exciting phenomenon. Tell your friends that Gadan bring phenomenal energy and musicality to the genre.”
It’s a huge honor for us to be recognized by Irish Music Magazine and by Seán Laffey, whose words mean a lot in the international folk community. The feature confirms Gadan’s growing presence on the global scene, and we’re thrilled to see May the Divil Tune Your Banjos described as “a classic for years to come.”
