Jacopo Ventura is an Italian guitarist and multi-instrumentalist active in the European folk and world music scene. Born and raised in Italy, he developed a passion for traditional Irish, Celtic, and French music from a young age, reinterpreting it with an energetic and refined style on guitar, bouzouki, and other stringed instruments. His innovative guitar technique, which integrates simultaneous bass lines and melodic accompaniment, sets him apart in the folk scene, adding richness and complexity to his performances.
Over the years, he has collaborated with internationally renowned artists such as John Whelan and Jason O’Rourke, contributing to projects that bridge tradition and innovation. He is part of major folk projects like Lyradanz, Ensemble Sangineto, Gadan, Folkamiseria, and Andrea Capezzuoli e Compagnia, performing across Europe, North and South America, and Asia.

Depends on the genre we're talking about! In Folk music, DeDannan, La Ciapa Rusa, Gregory Jolivet — but there are so many more who inspired me. Stepping outside European folk, I could mention Caravan Palace, Manu Chao, Wynton Marsalis. And of course, Franco Battiato, Daft Punk... I could go on forever!
