In 2024, Enda Scahill, tenor banjo master, All-Ireland champion and founder of the acclaimed Irish band We Banjo 3, joined forces with Gadan, the Italian-born band redefining the meeting point of Irish traditional music and bluegrass.
With no less than three banjos plus fiddle, mandolin and guitar, Gadan deliver a powerful strings-only sound the press calls Celtgrass: Irish trad given a new lease of life. Upbeat, joyful, and impossible not to dance to.
Gadan tour the US and Europe every year — from intimate folk venues to major Celtic festivals.
Come hear where the banjo went next.
No. We Banjo 3 are no longer touring, and Gadan is a separate band, not a renamed We Banjo 3. We have huge respect for everything Enda created with Martin, David and Fergal, and now Enda brings that same tenor banjo fire to Gadan.
Think Celtgrass: the drive of Irish traditional music meets bluegrass and Appalachian roots, played on three banjos, fiddle, mandolin and guitar — with an Italian twist.
